Chevy in the 1990s

The 90s were about refinement, new tech, and a few surprises. Trucks and SUVs exploded, the Corvette reached new heights, and the Camaro kept the pony car rivalry alive.

1990–1994: Corvette ZR-1 & SUV Boom

The C4 Corvette ZR-1 stunned with Lotus-designed LT5 power. Meanwhile, Tahoes and Suburbans rode the SUV wave.

1995–1997: Trucks Take Over

Silverado GMT400s dominated. The Blazer and Tahoe defined the family SUV space. Camaro Z28 soldiered on with LT1 power.

The 1997 Corvette C5 launched with LS1 power, transforming America’s sports car. Camaro and Firebird followed with LS power by ’98.
